ARRMA GOES PATRIOTIC WITH THE FREEDOM FLYER
ARRMA has officially joined the red, white, and blue wave.
The company’s newest releases are the Freedom Flyer monster trucks, offered in both a 1/10 223S brushless version and a 1/16 GROM 4X4 brushed version. Together, they give ARRMA fans two different ways to jump into the patriotic summer theme, whether they want a larger truck with serious brushless speed or a smaller platform built for easy, take-anywhere fun.
According to ARRMA, the 1/10 Freedom Flyer 223S delivers 50+ MPH potential with 2S to 3S capability, while the 1/16 Freedom Flyer GROM packs its star-spangled styling into a compact 4X4 ready-to-run package that can be enjoyed indoors or out.
Why It Matters
This is more than just another color variation.
Special-edition RC vehicles like these show how much styling and theme can shape excitement in the hobby. Performance matters, of course, but so does personality. A patriotic release can turn an ordinary bash session into something that feels seasonal, collectible, and fun in a different way.
It also highlights a broader trend in the hobby right now.
Manufacturers are not only competing on speed, durability, and power systems. They are also finding ways to connect RC vehicles to moments, themes, and identities that make people feel more attached to what they drive.
That matters because RC has always been about more than specs on a box.
It is about expression.
It is about fun.
It is about the feeling you get when a vehicle looks every bit as exciting as it drives.
The Freedom Flyer models also give ARRMA a two-level approach.
The larger 1/10 223S targets drivers who want stronger performance and a bigger presence.
The smaller GROM version opens the door to a more accessible format that is easy to run in more places and easier for a wider range of hobbyists to enjoy.
That gives the release broader appeal than a single-platform special edition.
The bigger picture is simple:
Patriotic RC is having a moment, and ARRMA clearly wants to be part of it.
Question of the Day
Which would you choose?
The 1/10 Freedom Flyer 223S brushless truck
