1/10 VRD Straight Axle 4x4 Rock Crawler Builders Kit
Overview
Utilizing the VFD Transmission and F10 straight axles the VRD Builders Kit is a highly competitive, predictable and versatile platform. The heart of the VRD Builders Kit is a 3mm thick pair of aluminum frame rails mated to the 6 degree flat bottom skid plate. The molded chassis components and skid plate place the VFD transmission as low as possible into the VRD chassis. The front F10 straight axle is equipped with a servo on axle and 4-link suspension.
Drivetrain
The VRD Builders Kit includes the Vanquish Products VFD transmission and F10 straight axles. The F10 axles feature a high clearance design, minimizing pumpkin size and maximizing strength around the C-hub and knuckle. The ISD10 driveshafts connect the VFD to the F10 axles, featuring machined CV joints and molded splined shafts for smooth, efficient performance.
VRD Chassis
Equipped with molded chassis parts offers a customizable base to adjust to challenging terrain. Various shock and body mounting locations with simple front/rear bumpers ensure easy body installation and alignment.
VFD Transmission
The VFD is designed for optimal performance, scale appearance, strength, and versatile accessories. It positions the motor forward and low for ideal weight distribution. The VFD Spec transmission offers a 6.5% overdrive for improved turning and climbing without stressing electronics. The T-case features replaceable bearing plates for adjustable positioning and optional gear ratios. Compatible with 540 brushed and brushless motors.
Suspension
The VRD utilizes Incision 90mm S8E shocks with 8mm bore aluminum threaded bodies, dual X-ring seals, locking preload collars, keyed spring cups, and polished steel shock shafts. The front 4-link with suspension with servo-on-axle prioritizes steering effectiveness. Stainless steel links ensure low weight and durability.
